Organized waste transporting in Pello commune

 All permanent households and summer cottages are obliged to join into organized waste transporting unless the commune has admitted to release them from this.

 Organized waste transporting includes mixed garbage and silt wells ( sludge wells). This service is due to charge.
According to waste service instructions pickup-time can be at maximum

 Household garbage:

In commune centre:

In surrounding villages: 

In summer 1 week

In summer 2 weeks

In winter 2 weeks

In winter 6 weeks

 Silt wells: once per year

Biowaste: once per week

Open burning:

All sorts of open burning of garbage and dead grass and leaves is prohibited on the areas of commune centre. Burning garbage elsewhere must not cause any harm to neighbours.

 Junk cars:

Junk cars are received in dumping ground on a pointed place.

Collecting recycle waste:

Garbage collected from households are at the moment  only paper and batteries.This collecting service is free of charge.
Placements of ecopoints :

-   schools, even closed ones
-         ecopoints in Kotitie and Pikkutaivaantie
-         Kindergarden

Collecting another type of garbage:

Washing machines, televisions, radios, refrigerators, freezers, bicycles, mopeds, furniture, small amounts of iron etc. are collected once per year to a pointed place in commune centre.

 Problemwaste: car batteries, paints, varnish, solvent, oil waste etc. are collected once per year to a pointed place in commune centre.

 Sorted garbage ( metal, glass, wood, freezers...) and problemwaste can be taken to the dumping ground to a pointed place free of charge every saturday 11.00-13.00.
